The Critical Life Areas of Addiction: Spiritual

Spiritual is one of the more difficult ones to identify in ourselves or others. Let’s use the desire to control for this example. Whether you are spiritual in a religious sense, believe in karma, energy or the universe, the desire to control often negatively impacts our ability to connect with our higher power. When we decide that the way we want it to be or think it should go for ourselves or others overpowers our higher power, we create distance in ability to connect spiritually. What outcomes are we trying to control that are not really within our reach or power to do so?
